"Our team enjoyed working with George immensely and he freely shared his knowledge which allowed him to gain the respect of the designers and manufacturers in the project. I think we could have better utilised George's time earlier in the project. Overall, it was a positive and beneficial experience for UGL. I am happy to recommend George and Performance Drivers, and/or utilise again if the situation arises."

Those who attended last week’s site tour were not just given a rare insight into what it takes to create a facility capable of housing nuclear material, but also the processes involved in the manufacture and handling of Nuclear Medicine. The new nuclear medicine facility will enable ANSTO to triple production of Molybdenum-99 (Mo-99). The increased capacity will enable Australia to meet domestic demand, as well as supply a significant proportion of the world demand for this nuclear medicine.

ANSTO is a strong proponent of Lean Methodology and at their new ANM facility we saw how they have used 5S methodology as part of their overall CI drive to eliminate waste, improve flow and empower their workforce. and empower their workforce.

A big thank you to the management and staff at ANSTO: Lindsay Pursehouse, Manager – Central Scheduling and Supply; Enzo Valente, Operational Reediness Coordinator at ANM; Aaron Flett - Operations Manager ANM; James Charlesworth – Mo99 Manager. The passion and enthusiasm they and their teams display was much remarked on by our attendees.

Attendee feedback:

“Fantastic! I was overwhelmed with the facility. The team are positive and really enjoy their jobs”

“Good to see another companies approach – enjoy learning about other processes”

“Great tour, great site, great people”
